Srilanka Apparel Garments without Guilt

FAAMA Sri Lanka

Although Sri Lanka is geographically at a distance form key markets, it has succeeded in gaining a prestigious international customer base and a reputation as a quality manufacturer with dependable and on-time delivery.

However, with rapidly changing trends in the global retail industry, the emergence of China as a major producer, entry into WTO and removal of quotas Sri Lanka is facing some difficult times ahead. The Textile and Apparel Sector in Sri Lanka is vital to the country’s economy and the export of textiles and apparels accounts for a significant portion of Sri Lanka’s export earnings with the industry providing a large number of jobs and contributing to a large percentage of GDP.

As the Fabric & Apparel Accessory Manufacturers are the backbone and mainstay of the apparel industry, a representative body like FAAMA gives strength to such an association.

FAAMA provides a forum to exchange views and information and to educate members and those related to the industry. It also acts as a unified body to lobby at ministry and legislative level in order to protect the industry and pool resources.
